Asrai & Epica – Biebob – Vosselaar – 23/2/2008

Al bij aankomst in Biebob werd me duidelijk dat het beloofde om een Nederlands dubbelfeest te worden met Asrai & Epica. Gewapend met fototoestel baande ik me een weg tot vooraan aan het podium. Biebob was uitverkocht deze avond en dat komt een live sfeer altijd ten goede, niet enkel de fans zijn dan in hun nopjes maar ook voor de bands voelt dit extra tof aan. Asrai mocht omstreeks iets na achten van start gaan met een vurige set die voornamelijk bestond uit nummers uit hun recentste “Pearls Of Dirt” , maar ook de beste uit voorganger “Touch In The Dark” werden niet weerhouden. Frontvrouw Margriet trok stevig van leer gerugsteund door de eveneens met staartjes getooide (het handelsmerk van Asrai) drumlady Karin die de beuk zette voor snarenplukkers Martin & Rik die hun mannetje wisten te staan in deze voornamelijk uit vrouwen bestaande bezetting waarin vooral toetseniste Manon & geluidsamples voor de melodieuze toon zorgden. Een lekkere gedreven opwarmer van formaat alvorens het Epica kanon op de zal losgelaten werd. Jammer wel dat de podiumruimte en belichting beperkt was waardoor Asrai niet volkomen tot zijn recht kon komen.

The tour with Epica has been cancelled, although these two shows remain.
22 febr 2008, Ready to go to The Splendid in Lille. Amazing enough we didn’t got lost and not even got stuck in a traffic jam...
Whish we could say the same that evening, after the show we got terribly lost getting to our hotel,. There are to many rue de lille, When we finally found out that the rue the Lille wasn't in Lille we got to the hotel and could finally crash into our beds..
The next day there was even time for doing a little sightseeing and shopping in Gent, before we were heading to a fully loaded Biebob.
